Discipline

Discipline

Whatever you do, do it with your whole heart, as working for the Lord, not for men. Colossians 3:23
On my mind today—doing everything whole-heartedly. So often I feel like taking the easy way out, and just getting the bare minimum accomplished.  I mean, its human instinct to do that right?  However, that attitude contradicts the implications of the Bible.
Imagine—if you were to do everything whole-heartedly, how much more would you get accomplished?  For me, it would change everything.  Sure, sometimes I do my best, but when I’m running short on time it’s easy to just produce sloppy, half-hearted work.

The Truth: When you put your whole heart into work, the reward is so much greater.

Don’t believe me?

Check out the verse which follows…

(stated earlier) Whatever you do, do it with your whole heart, as working for the Lord, not for men. Colossians 3:23

--since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. Colossians 3:24

Pretty cool; even if we don’t receive a reward on earth, God will reward us later.  Not to mention, there’s nothing like the feeling you get when you know you’ve done an exceptional job.

I will be trying to apply this in my life, and I encourage you to do so as well. J
